Teachers, teachers, everywhere. How many times have you learned something from the most unlikely person or source? I find that I am doing this quite regularly and have learned the most amazing things.
One of my cousins sent me an email about honey and cinnamon being great for arthritis, diabetes, colds, weight loss and much more. Another friend told me that she uses honey and turmeric for mental health as the cucumin in the turmeric helps the brain to stay healthy. My 7 year old grandson said the other day that sometimes change is good and sometimes it is bad, depends on the subject. Labels are great teachers. They tell us what is in the food we eat and all about the nutritional content. Too bad they don't tell us what some of the unpronouncables do to us! Sometimes we learn great things on the TV too. Did you know that your life is incomplete if you don't eat at certain restaurants.... buy certain clothes.....drive certain vehicles? Many many teachers........
How 'bout you? Have you noticed any teachers lately?

Changes
I can't believe that it has been so long since I last blogged! I was full of promise when I started and then, what is the saying, life gets in the way!
Yes, there are changes happening so quickly. Autumn is here with a blast in her full glory! The leaves are falling faster every day and we can't see the grass for them.
This is a time for preparing for the long short days of winter. A time for getting all of the outside work done. A time for cleaning out the garderns, raking the leaves, wrapping the shrubs, getting the wood ready for the fires, caulking the leaks around windows and doors and many other tasks. But what about preparing ourselves for the winter? What do we need to do before we enter the time of introspection and dreams?
Most of us know that the winter is a time of putting on extra weight with the period of lesser activity, so why don't we start to help our bodies by making a plan to eat healthy and well during the winter? Why don't we start to help our bodies by making a plan to get more exercise? The exercise doesn't have to be outside if you're not a winter fan. There are lots of indoor groups that can help keep you fit from dancing, bowling, exercise classes, swimming and the list goes on.
Let's make a plan to eat more of the great root veggies that we have available to us. Let's watch the starches and chose to eat wisely.
I have changed my eating style to my advantage, a weight loss and much better cholesterol results because of it. I am committed to continue with what I have been doing to become a healthier and happier person in the spring!
Just a thought!
