Changes

I can't believe that it has been so long since I last blogged! I was full of promise when I started and then, what is the saying, life gets in the way!
Yes, there are changes happening so quickly. Autumn is here with a blast in her full glory! The leaves are falling faster every day and we can't see the grass for them.
This is a time for preparing for the long short days of winter. A time for getting all of the outside work done. A time for cleaning out the garderns, raking the leaves, wrapping the shrubs, getting the wood ready for the fires, caulking the leaks around windows and doors and many other tasks. But what about preparing ourselves for the winter? What do we need to do before we enter the time of introspection and dreams?
Most of us know that the winter is a time of putting on extra weight with the period of lesser activity, so why don't we start to help our bodies by making a plan to eat healthy and well during the winter? Why don't we start to help our bodies by making a plan to get more exercise? The exercise doesn't have to be outside if you're not a winter fan. There are lots of indoor groups that can help keep you fit from dancing, bowling, exercise classes, swimming and the list goes on.
Let's make a plan to eat more of the great root veggies that we have available to us. Let's watch the starches and chose to eat wisely.

I have changed my eating style to my advantage, a weight loss and much better cholesterol results because of it. I am committed to continue with what I have been doing to become a healthier and happier person in the spring!

I choose happiness

Someone said to me a few days ago that it was just as easy to learn our life lessons through happiness as it was through pain. I have been thinking about that and I would tend to agree. I feel that alot of today's society is focused on the things that they feel are wrong in the world. When was the last time the news broadcasts were all happy, upbeat, positive messages? I don't ever remember one, can you?
As we move forward in our lives, I think that we all like to feel that we are making progress, that we are evolving so to speak toward a better place in our thinking and our lives. The majority of us are but there are still some who can't let go of the nagging, being brought down by others and themselves. The can't look out of their windows and see beauty. Why, they can't even look in the mirror and be in awe of what looks back at them.
I am blessed to be able to live where I do and partake in the type of work that I like. I feel blessed that I am able to touch so many people and share our journeys. With that sharing, we are both helped along our paths.
This same person also said that the goal was to live life in a neutral state. I was a bit confused about this at first. I have thought about it and realized that what it means is that I don't have to comment on everything. I don't have to have an emotion or thought about what someone says or does. By my being neutral, it validates the other person's feelings while not investing mine. I can share, listen, and participate with love.
I choose to see the light in people's eyes, to see the life in the trees, to feel the energy of the rain and the healing in the rays of the sun.
I choose happiness!

Get 'er done!

We did it! We got 'er done! as one of my great gal cousins stated proudly.
We had been planning this for a year and on Saturday night, we walked the fire! We got together around noon and shared a lovely lunch. (Everyone brought a dish and we chose some for lunch and kept the others for supper.) Anyway, we laughed and cried and had a great time until our Firewalk gal, Jacqueline McDonald and her wonderful fire keeper friend, Pat, showed up. We shared supper and then started the workshop. We then built the fire, did more writing and ventured outside to walk the fire. Boy, was it exhilarating!! Best of all, we all did it!
For those of you who don't know what this is, I will attempt to explain as best as I can. Firewalking is an ancient practice for growth and enlightenment. During a workshop you willl do some journalling and exploring your issues. The purpose of the fire is to burn away all of that so that you can start and move forward renewed. Meanwhile, Jackie and Pat rake out the fire leaving a bed of coals, they use a rake and a shovel to break up the wood into coals. The bed can be anywhere from 8 ft long to about 15 ft. When ready you walk over the coals. It is very empowering! You can really conquer fears with this. By the end of the evening, some were dancing on the coals! I never felt heat on my feet any of the 8 or so time that I crossed. Amazing! If you can walk the fire..... We joked about taking on water next. I will be posting a photo soon.
Anyone interested in orbs, will be interested in the photo that I am going to post when I receive it. There were so many orbs, it looked like it was raining. I will explain orbs when I post the photo.

Vibrations

I am sitting here with my coffee and watching the sun break through the clouds to share it's brilliance with those of us on earth. It reminds me of the feeling when I finally "get it". You know when you are searching for an answer or solution to a problem and then aha, you get it! That rush, that warm feeling, that inner glow that bubbles to the surface. Don't you love that feeling?
It would be so nice to live with that feeling every moment of the day. It is something that I have been working on. I have been reading Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn and it has been a revelation. It expands on The Secret by really expanding on the feeling aspect. She really brings out the need to feel the glow in your gut in order to give substance to your desire. This energy vibration then goes into the universe and attracts the same type of vibration which becomes matter. Remember, matter follows thought!
Lynn Grabhorn says that she realizes that this is hard to do all the time so in order to get into the groove of feeling elated, we should remember a time when we felt this and bring it forward and pretend until we feel it. Wow, that is play time! I love to pretend and it is something that I can do easily. So for the next few days, I am going to pretend my heart out! I will laugh and grin like the Chesire Cat! If anything, I will have fun.
